![]() IMPORTANT: I noticed that you have a P2P (Peer to Peer) file sharing program on your computer. I see you have about 10GB free now which is much safer so let's continue. In all my years of computing I've been very careful with viruses and this is actually the first one I've ever had to deal with. I had to rename the EXE to get it to run, but it didn't fix anything. ComboFix, like MSE, would close immediately on launching. I found this forum by googling my problem and found someone else in 2013 who had a similar issue, so I followed what he had been told to do in that thread up to running ComboFix. I actually am 100% sure of the program I installed that must have contained this malware and have deleted all of the relevant files I could find, but that didn't help. I installed Malwarebytes, AdwCleaner, and RogueKiller, all of which found a couple of things but they didn't manage to get rid of the issue. I've also noticed my C:\ drive is suddenly completely full (it's a 60gb SSD, too small I know, but before today I had about 5gb free on it) and when i refresh my drive list screen in Windows Explorer I notice it fluctuates between being completely full and having about 64kb free.Īnother small thing is whatever it is installed a Yahoo search plugin to Chrome, which I promptly removed and it hasn't come back. Just today, Windows told me my real-time protection had been disabled, so I went to restart MSE and it closed a split second after opening it, which it has continued to do whenever I try to open it again. At least once a day I'd get a popup from Microsoft Security Essentials saying 'detected threats being cleaned, no action needed' but I would open MSE and there would be no record of anything being detected or quarantined. ![]() Hello! This past week I've been noticing a few strange things happening with my PC.
